Wearable Sensors: From Furthering Fitness to Diagnosing Disease
A Burlington Data Science Meetup
Wed, Oct 18 from 6pm - 7:30pm
Wearable and mobile technologies are poised to revolutionize the way we address problems related to human health and performance across a wide spectrum of applications ranging from assessing the biomechanics of our warfighters and athletes to improving clinical care for those with neurological, musculoskeletal, and mental health disorders. We're very excited to host UVM professor Ryan McGinnis who will talk about his extensive work on using wearable sensors to improve equipment design for athletes and soldiers and improve our understanding of the impacts of neurological disease on the body. Ryan will focus on his data management pipeline as well as the approaches used to derive actionable insights from the extremely large amounts of data collected by these systems.
