Gelato is Italian ice cream that uses less sugar and fat than the American version. We will learn to make a custard base which can then be made into a variety of flavors. Since it is summer in VT we will make one with fresh berries and, of course, a chocolate recipe to die for! We will make a refreshing lemon flavored sorbet in class, which can easily be made with berries when you try it out at home. As an extra treat, we'll be making our own ice cream cones on an Italian Pizzelle maker. A true summer-time class!
