Talent Skatepark, Inc.

A year ago, Talent Skatepark closed its doors after 17 years as the largest indoor skatepark in northern New England. Skaters young and old mourned the loss of their home away from home.

Talent Skatepark, Inc.

Far more than a safe place to skateboard in all seasons, Talent offered open arms to the community. It was a place for individuals to make friends, grow and thrive, and learn respect for others and for themselves. The Talent community also provided a haven for those who may not have felt welcome or comfortable in more conventional youth activities. To some, it was literally a life saver.

No matter what Talent Skatepark represented to individuals, all were left wondering how the void could be filled.

In response, a group of parents who understood the gravity of Talent’s loss embarked on a mission to open a new indoor skatepark. Now, with a board of directors in place and the guidance of original owner Hannah Deene Wood, Talent is ready for rebirth as a non-profit organization that seeks to ensure skaters of all ages continue to feel connected and engaged with their community through skateboarding in a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.

A new non-profit entity, Talent Skatepark, Inc, has secured a home at the Burton complex in Burlington’s South End and plans to open by winter of 2019.
